This app utilizes the built-in barometric pressure sensor found in newer models of iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, released after 2016. Some older models of these devices do not support this sensor. Please refer to the list at the bottom to see which devices are not compatible.
With a range of features including a weather barometer, outdoor altimeter, barometric trend analysis, and a Notification Center widget, this app offers a comprehensive experience.
Even without the optional In-App-Purchase, it functions as a fully equipped barometer with no drawbacks and provides access to all essential features. Additionally, it is completely ad-free. For more information on additional professional features, please see the "Pro Features" section at the end. This app operates solely on your device without requiring an internet connection or data transmission.
By monitoring the barometric pressure and leveraging GPS (optional) and the new barometric pressure sensor, this app calculates accurate barometric pressure for weather forecasts. With its built-in sensor, it works independently of internet connectivity. The user-friendly marker aids in tracking changes in barometric pressure and predicting weather patterns. It's important to note that a single barometric pressure reading is not sufficient for determining current weather conditions; however, monitoring the pressure and its changes over time serves as a reliable indicator for weather variations.
Moreover, this app offers graph charts that display measurements taken over the past 30 days, allowing users to visualize the trend in barometric pressure (6h, 12h, 24h, 3d, 7d, 14d, 30d).
The altimeter feature assists users in monitoring altitude changes based on pressure fluctuations. Simply set your reference pressure and altitude to accurately measure elevation during activities such as mountain climbing (it also works for other outdoor pursuits). This feature does not rely on GPS.
Please be aware that this app cannot read barometric pressure values or provide useful information on older devices such as the 4S, 5, 5S, and 5C, as well as any iPod Touch and iPad models predating iPad Air 2 or iPad Mini 4. It is also incompatible with Apple Watch Series 1 and 2. However, the new SE (2020) is supported.
All the core features of this app—the Barometer, the Altimeter, the Trend, and the Widget—are entirely free to use for all users and offer maximum accuracy. There are no advertisements. The "Pro Features" section at the end includes additional functionalities available via a one-time In-App Purchase. These features are geared towards power users or those who wish to support the continued development of the app.
